Bostad Västerås AB, Org. no. 556455-0969 who operates under the names Bostad Västerås, Bostad Eskilstuna and Bostad Örebro processes personal data in accordance with the law, and EU:s data protection regulation.

With the terms "we, our, and us" below means Bostad Västerås AB.

 

1.1 We process your personal data

Bostad Västerås AB is responsible for the processing of personal data that you provide to us through the websites bostadvasteras.se, bostadeskilstuna.se and bostadorebro.nu.

1.2 What personal data do we handle?

We only handle the personal information you provide to us through the websites above. If you are offered a new apartment, we can also treat personal information that we receive about you via the credit report.

When you sign up to search for student accommodations, you leave your personal data. These can include name, social security number, address, telephone number, e-mail address, annual income, type of income, type of studies, desired home or desired residential area. These are the data we process.

 

1.3 Why do we handle personal data and what legal basis do we have for handling them?

In order to be able to offer you a new housing, we will treat the personal information you provide us with through your registration. If you are a tenant, where Bostad Västerås administers the leases, we handle your personal information.

The legal basis for Bostad Västerås to treat your personal data is that it is necessary for the completion of a contract with you or to take action before such an agreement can be signed.

 

1.4 Who do we provide with personal information and where do we store them geographically?

Registration for student accommodation.

Your personal information may be disclosed to and processed by others. We disclose your personal data to the landlord before signing the rental agreement with you. If you are a tenant, where Bostad Västerås administers leases, and have canceled your accommodation we might disclosed your personal information (contact information) out to interested individuals to book a showing of the home.

Bostad Västerås treats your personal information within the EU and EEA only.

 

1.5 How long we process personal data?

We process personal data only for as long as there is a need to preserve them for the accomplishment of the purposes for which the data was disclosed. The same personal data can be stored for different purposes. This may mean that some information that has been removed from one system because it is no longer required for that purpose, may remain in a different system where it is stored under a different legal basis, or for another purpose where the information is still needed.

Registration to search for student accommodation.

We handle your personal information as long as you are seeking a new home. This means that you must update your personal information/your registration at least every 6 months. If you do not, your registration and your personal data will be cancelled and you are no longer an applicant of residence with us. If you accept an offer of accommodation and sign a lease agreement your personal information is removed after a month from that you were offered to sign a rental agreement. Please note that your personal information can still be processed by us but then on the grounds that you are a tenant in companies where Bostad Västerås administers a rental agreement or lease.

Tenant of companies where Bostad Västerås administers leases/tenancy.

Are you a tenant with companies where Bostad Västerås administers leases and/or tenancy, we process your personal data for the duration of the tenancy and then for maximum 12 months.

Your personal data may be kept for longer than provided for above, if necessary to comply with legal requirements.

 

1.6 Your rights

You have the right, without charge, to obtain information about the personal data we process about you with a written request. You may request at any time that we correct information about you that is incorrect. You can also have the right to ask us to delete or limit the personal information we have about you.

If you do not have the basis for your request or your request is unreasonable, for example, if you request information or deletion often and with short intervals, Bostad Västerås reserves the right to charge a fee to cover the administrative costs based on your request. Send your request to us at the contact details above, see paragraph 1.1.

 

1.7 The limitation or cessation of use of personal information

You can contact us at any time to ask us to restrict or cease the processing of your personal data. If you do not wish us to process your personal data, or want to restrict its use, we ask that you let us know by contacting us at the above contact information, see point 1.1.

The service we provide to you will be affected and you must be aware of this.
It also means that we may no longer be able to meet your requirements to be offered a new home.

If you contact us to limit or cease the use of your personal information, we will restrict or cease the processing of your personal data, provided that we do not need to continue to treat them for any other purpose in accordance with this personal data policy.

 

1.8 The right to submit complaints
