Refund policy

 
Please note that Bostad Västerås does not cover any bank fees. The refunded amount will be deducted with SEK 100 to cover administration and bank fees.
If the bank fees exceed SEK 100 the actual amount will be deducted.
 

Down payment

If you confirmed your housing offer by making the down payment (first half of the semester rent + deposit) and later was denied VISA (or changed your mind for other reasons) our policy is as follows:
 

Fall semester:

If you notify us before July 31 we will keep SEK 1.000 of the deposit and refund the remaining amount.
If you notify us after July 31 but before the start of the lease agreement we will keep SEK 2.000 of the deposit and refund the remaining amount.
If you notify us after the start of your lease agreement but before September 30 we will keep SEK 3.000 or the equivalent of 1,5 month's rent if this amount exceeds SEK 3.000. We will refund the remaining amount.
 

Spring semester:

If you notify us before December 31 we will keep SEK 1.000 of the deposit and refund the remaining amount.
If you notify us after December 31 but before the start of the lease agreement we will keep SEK 2.000 of the deposit and refund the remaining amount.
If you notify us after the start of your lease agreement but before February 28 we will keep SEK 3.000 or the equivalent of 1,5 month's rent if this amount exceeds SEK 3.000. We will refund the remaining amount.
 

Prolongations

If you prolonged your contract for the next semester and were not able to continue the contract after all, our policy is as follows:

Fall semester:

If you notify us before June 30 we will keep SEK 1.000 of the deposit and refund the remaining amount.
 
If you notify us between July 1 and July 31 we will keep SEK 1.000 of the deposit plus the equivalent of one month's rent. (If you have stayed in the same accommodation during both fall and spring semester, you will not be charged the one month's rent since the month of July is rent free under these circumstances.)
 
If you notify us after July 31 but before the start of the lease agreement we will keep SEK 2.000 of the deposit and refund the remaining amount.
 
If you notify us after the start of your lease agreement but before September 30 we will keep SEK 3.000 or the equivalent of 1,5 month's rent if this amount exceeds SEK 3.000. We will refund the remaining amount.
 

Spring semester:

If you notify us before December 31 we will keep SEK 1.000 of the deposit and refund the remaining amount.
If you notify us after January 1 but before the start of the lease agreement we will keep SEK 2.000 of the deposit and refund the remaining amount.
 

Already moved in

If you booked the accommodation, already moved in and later realize that you are not able to continue living in your accommodation, you are obligated to pay rent for the entire semester even if you are no longer living in the accommodation.
 
If we have demand for your room/apt we can with your written approval lease the room/apt to another student. This means that once we have received rent from the new tenant we will be able to refund the corresponding amount back to you.
 
Please note; a transfer of contract will result in an administrative fee of SEK 2000. This fee wll be charged from your deposit.
